I tried to update to iOS 10 today and my phone is bricked. I tried the steps to fix it that I found online and nothing worked. I am supposed to turn this phone in in 10 days or so because I am on the Next program with AT&T and I'm really worried that I'm royally screwed now.

I have chatted with Apple online before, but I cannot for the life of me find that option now that I really need it! I do not have a phone to use to call customer service. I'm really at a loss. I tried to plug in to iTunes on two computers and the first doesn't even recognize it as a device and the second said there was an error updating the phone, even when I tried to update and restore.

I know I'm not the only one, but I just don't have anyone to get help from and I'm hoping someone out there can give me some advice.

Thanks.

iPhone 6s+ on AT&T, by the way.

You're fine. You just need to finish the update through iTunes. It should give you the options to "update" or "restore." Choose update. It'll download the 2+ GB update file and then update your phone for you. None of your data should be lost and your phone will be fine.

You will need to do your update via iTunes. Go to the IOS forum on this site and it will describe what to do. Do not feel bad as mine is dead as a door nail till I get home.

I finally got it to work, thank GOODNESS! It kept erroring out but I just kept trying and it finally went through. Thank you both so much for answering!
