Ok am I missing something here????? I thought iOS 10 had a pretty easy to understand notification system. Hard press on the X to delete everything.

So i have iOS 11.0.3. Sometimes the notifications allow you to delete all of the notifications in one tap of the “x” button. But check out my screenshot. How the hell do I delete this whatsapp notification??? I have to individually swipe to dismiss each message? Seems like a huge step back. Steve Jobs needs to kick their programmers in the crotch to allow this nonsense.

Thanks for the post. It still a stupid implementation. The old way work. See a notification hit a X. Now I have to turn my phone off an on so I am dismiss the previously undismissable. Ugh
You can still dismiss individual notifications. It's possible there might have been complaints coming in from typical users that have accidentally cleared all new notifications from the lock screen without reading them and having no way to get them back to see what they missed.

Ya perhaps. My suggestion is give us the option to opt in or out in the settings. We can have this feature for those that accidentally dismiss notifications and an option for like me that wants to just ex this mofo.

That realistically can apply to a lot of things where an option can be offered in settings. And while that would be nice for those of us that would make use of it all, it can also be seen as cluttering up settings with too many options that become convoluted for the majority of typical users (even here at MR there are people that complain about there being too many settings and it all being too messy/complex). Apple probably shoots for some balance in it all, but mostly goes with what they think is better in their mind and for the majority of their typical customers, as that's petty much how it's always been with iOS especially.

Didn't complain, but, did this to myself the other day with the "Earlier Today" list. Did not look closely at the list, thinking nothing new in there, did the clear all. And then I glimpse one notification I did not see earlier as it goes "poof" (not important, but can see similar situation with a meaningful notification).
