Like almost everyone else in the forums, I'm excited about the iPhone 3G and am hoping to pick one up on Friday morning. I'm coming over from Verizon and was wondering if I buy my iPhone at an Apple store if they will be able to port my number from Verizon or if I need to go directly to an AT&T store on Friday for them to do that.

Thanks in advance for the help! :)

I dont think that has been released yet I would personally go to an AT&T store for that!

they should be able to do so via itunes

when i was in for my refurb, they noticed mine was never activated. the only way they would give me the replacement is if i went behind the "genius" counter and sign up for a new plan there. i noticed there was an option there for your current phone number. i think you will still need the info (name, act #, ss #) of the account holder to transfer it over though. it didn't take more than a few mins to fill everything in. so i assume that they will be something very similar.
