i'm going to buy a 1g iPod, and i'd like to know if it will. also, does anyone have one that they're willing to sell?

Maybe he wants a iPod but not a shuffle. Shuffles have one design flaw. No screen. I guess that makes it "truely" random. But a lot of people dont like it. Im fine with my shuffle. The nano compels me............ must buy......

i should hope so, as nearly all of my iTunes library is in AAC and therefore so is the music on my iPod 1st gen 5GB ;)

I really want to upgrade, but this iPod was a 21st birthday present…

hmmm... Why do you want a 1g? I personally really don't like those ones (I did at the time)

maybe because he's retro, i really want to fix up my 5g and put in a extended battery and use it as a long haul player, and i acctually prefer the physical scroll wheel.

He is talking about the FIRST GENERATION of the iPods. To the 3rd and 4th posts.

To be fair the 4th poster has directly quoted the playing of AAC on their own 1st gen iPod, re.

I can see what you are saying. I will continue to look for a cheapish 1G iPod to go along with my 60GB, (and if the nanos come down in price in 6 months or so, maybe one of them too for exercise). The physically moving wheel is about as retro as mp3 players get.
