Can you watch YouTube videos without being on wifi

    Absolutely. With a fast enough 3G network you can.

    Guess Verizon isn't fast enough

    Make sure you're not watching the high quality versions of the video.

    In Safari you can toggle the 'HQ' button to off before you watch the video. I don't know how or if you can change it in the Youtube app, but if you can't do it there, use Safari.
