While not to be taken seriously at this time, this brings up some interesting points. Trump could eliminate the deficit by selling off those states and it would be highly beneficial to Canada. Hell, the West Coast has more in common with BC than it's neighoring states to the East.

On a more real note, it is possible that to some degree the West Coast might de-facto secede from the US if Trumps' policies take a hard turn to the right. For example Chicago and NYC have already declared they'll be "sanctuary cities" for immigrants that Trump might want to deport - even if they lose Federal funds in the process. If Abortion or Planned Parenthood go down, I could see the West Coast be "sanctuary states", using funds from marijuana sales (and perhaps increased taxes) to implement policies that go counter the the Feds (and more in line with Canada btw). Thoughts?

No State is going to secede. Last time that happened over half a million Americans died making that point pretty clear. If anything California needs to break into two States. State of Jefferson and California.

Canada doesn't want you. Join with Mexico, then your entire state can be a sanctuary and you'll have all the drugs you ever wanted.

It would be interesting to see the math on something like this. Could their tax structure take care of its own? Would industry or even property owners want to remain with the large burden and no government or military support? Not all of its citizens are liberal, I would assume they would leave. Pipe dream but it would be interesting to see real numbers.

We could give Commiefornia back to Mexico, but Mexico doesn't want all the illegals.

Remember when liberals (many from California) were calling Texans racist for wanting to secede? Pepperidge Farm Remembers.

Someone in another thread mentioned that they grow a lot of our produce. What they left off was they grow it with Colorados water.

No doubt. Have you ever read Mexico's laws regarding illegals?

My post was speaking of Chicago, which is $10 billion in debt. However, since you mention Illinois, they are $321 billion in debt.

I'm sure that could be closed in double quick time if they didn't have to subsidise the red states.

I cannot for the life of me understand why any one would support people like the Mayor of Chicago, who has declared that the city will remain a sanctuary city.

These immigrants are breaking the law. Why is it so controversial to enforce the law? How can anybody be against this?

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would support Boris Johnson who has declared that people should do up to 100 on the motorway.

People doing 100 on the motorway are breaking the law. Why is it so controversial to enforce the law? How can anybody be against this.

Why do people think stuff like this is some type of very possible reality?

That's a very good argument for traffic police to increase patrols and issue more tickets. Its not really a good argument for violating federal immigration law.

Then why have a law? Is it to put in executives and police who execute and enforce it whenever and however they please.
