Canon Rebel T6 refuses to connect to Macbook Air (2017)

A USB cable does not work. WIFI does not work. The only thing that does work is taking SD card out and inserting it into MacBook air. Is there another way to connect or is this my only way?

Should work as long as you have the EOS Utility installed

Why can’t it just be plugged in and the photos app detects it?

No. It would not connect in the photos app but thanks for posting this.

Got it working. WIFI has to be turned off on the camera to connect with cable.
