For the past couple of weeks, every time I open the YouTube app on my Apple TV 4K (2021) the Welcome Back row appears under the Home menu. I cannot bypass this row no matter what I do. I can’t click the ad or scroll past it or access any of the content in my Home feed in YouTube. I have to force quit the app about a dozen times until it loads without the Welcome Back ad banner and then get to use the app for a few videos before having to start the process over.

I have reset the remote, restarted the Apple TV, restored ATV to defaults, deleted and reinstalled the YouTube app, reset the YouTube app, signed in with a different account, etc. all to no avail.

I’m so disappointed that I need to go back to a Roku just to use YouTube.

Has anybody experienced this and is there a fix? It’s driving me insane.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

I’m not sure what Welcome Back is, but, are you logged into YouTube?
Recommended content vastly differs depending on if you’re logged in or not.
If you are logged in, try going to YouTube in a computer and “disliking” whatever recommended content YouTube is trying to push on you.

What happens inside the YouTube app is 100% google, Apple doesn’t influence it at all.

Yes I’m logged into YouTube. I’ve even tried with a different Google account. I don’t have the issue on a Roku.

For better understanding what I cannot get past is the ad that’s showing under “welcome back”
