iPad Can’t get SD cards to be recognised by iPadOS 13

I have SD cards from a Fujifilm X-T3 camera that worked on ios12 but are ignored by iPadOS 13.

It appears that Fujifilm format JPEG or RAW is no longer supported in iPadOS 13
I’ve tried from other sources like a DJi Drone and they work fine.

Anyone else having this problem?


I may have to wind back to iOS12 as cant really help beta testing 13 if I can’t get any of my images into it.

I tried 13 and the same thing with my GFX card.
Just saw this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-13-import-photos.2184494/, and will try it when I can backup my current setup.

This is stopping me from using 13.

Thanks, Ive just this second discovered a workaround myself - Its as simple as renaming the SD card ‘NO NAME’ - then ALL the RAW files appear and import! Over the moon but ill check out this link also.

I renamed the SD card to No Name, FUJIXT3, and back again to Untitled. They all work. It must be something in the way the fuji cameras name or its the renaming that sets some sort of flag.

Welp, on a "in camera formatted" SD card, you can see the SD card, you can see the files, but you can't import them or move them, either in Files or Photos. So, it's getting closer.

If you rename the card, then you can import and move/copy the photos.

So moral of the story, rename your cards and Don't Format In Camera.

No, I’m still not able to import from my „UNTITLED“/„NO NAME“-SD Cards with Dev-Beta4. Its the same issue on sony-camera-formatted SD cards.
I sent a bugreport a few days ago.

Yeah I sent the same bug report back on Beta2
Just so your aware I've been having an issue with card readers since returning back to ios 12.
the photo app Initialises Import when a card is Inserted into the reader (and Ive tried 2 others) loads up a few thumbnails then exits import menu, then it initialises Import again and so on, in a continuous loop.
rendering it useless. all cards ive tried and readers worked before trying ios13

With Dev-Beta5 my camera-formatted cards are now working in the file-app and in photos-import as well
