Hi,

I'm using my admin account on my new macbook air with Lion trying to install some developer tools like pip. I always get a "Permission denied" error for all my installs. It seems I don't have write permissions for any directories. I guess I could change permissions for all of my directories but I don't think that's a great solution.

Does anyone have an idea why I would get permission denied errors by default?

Thank you.

Do not go off changing permissions in a bunch of directories without knowing exactly what you are doing!!! That is a good way to wind up with an unbootable system.
