Cant open applications, please help!!!

Hey,

Ive applications on my Mac that wont open ever since i installed to newer/updated versions of them. First it was firefox and now its itunes.

Everytime i try to open it

The application iTunes quit unexpectedly

Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.

Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.

Please help, its driving me crazy and i dont want to have to uninstall iTunes,

Sorry for sounding like a newb... but i am one, how?

Launch Disk Utility (in the Utilities Folder, which is in Applications)
Select your Hard drive and click on Repair Permissions.
