Can't watch Instant Watch on Netflix with Safari 5

    can't watch instant watch on netflix w/ safari 5. this is what it says:


    "Watching instantly on your computer

    Our apologies — streaming is not supported on this browser.

    Complete System Requirements

    To watch instantly, you'll need a computer that meets the following minimum requirements:

    Windows
    Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Vista or Windows 7
    Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher; or Firefox 2 or higher
    1.2 GHz processor
    512 MB RAM
    Mac
    An Intel-based Mac with OS 10.4.8 or later
    Safari 3 or higher; or Firefox 2 or higher
    1 GB RAM"

    Enable the "Develop" menu from Safari Preferences and then change your user agent to a lower version of Safari. Reload the page and streaming should work.

    ok. thanks. i'll try that. fortunately, netflix works on firefox.

    I would just use firefox for the next week, until a Netflix fix comes out, which would probably be a lot sooner than a week. I just personally wouldn't want to mess with the inner workings of Safari just for a one website or two.

    streaming netflix works fine on my safari 5. i didn't enable anything from the default install either.

    try going to the adobe site and download the latest version of flash. this worked for me

    yeah. i think i am going to wait for a fix too instead of fiddling with the settings in safari 5 for just one website. in the meantime, firefox works fine w/ netflix.
