I have an iPhone x running 11.1.1 on Verizon. This morning I noticed the carrier name changed from Verizon to VzW. I thought this had something to do with wifi calling... but i have that feature turned off. Anyone else notice this?

Some people have noticed that with iPhone 8 back in iOS 11.0 days even. Doesn't seem like any particular explanation has been tied to it showing up like that sometimes.

Google it. Android phones have same "issue" as far back as 2016. Seems to be related to whatever tower the phone is pinging.
Working as designed. Not a problem. Connected to Verizon no matter what.
