After migrating to Catalina, I’m not getting icon previews (of embedded album artwork) in AIFF music files – either in the finder or on the desktop. AIFF files just show up with blank icons, even though the files do have embedded artwork. Other music files, such as apple lossless (m4a), appear to be working normally.

Same thing is happening on all of my macs now running Catalina.

See attached screenshot.

This is still not fixed after 10.15.1 update - I see this on 3 separate macs running Catalina.

Also see similar problems with pdf icon previews, which eventually disappear and revert to generic pdf icon.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Still an issue with 10.15.5. And it's outside of the Music app--in Music I can see the artwork in both the Artwork viewer and for each song. But the icons are blank on the actual files (perfect screenshots, dogjw).

I even converted an AIFF file to ALAC and back, and the art showed up for the ALAC file's icon but not for the 2nd AIFF version of the file.

I posted this elsewhere, but the Artwork viewer no longer allows viewing of more than 1 piece of art; it used to allow swiping right and left between art (liner notes, back of album, etc.).

You can embed artwork in AIFF files, but not WAV. It's the main reason I chose AIFF over WAV for my music library.
