I'm using a G4 running OS 9.2 (classic mode under OSX, don't ask why, it's a long story...)

I need to start-up from a CD, when I do the usual holding down 'C' during start-up it just ignores the CD and mounts from the hard disk.

Any ideas why?

Obviously, the OS provided on the CD is not suitable for your computer. It might be to old.

OR: It's a CDR was copied "file & folder mode" instead of making a 1:1 backup copy, so some vital system info was lost.

It's Norton Utilities 6.0 which according to the packaging will 'repair, optomise & recover on Mac OSX'

It's not a copied disk either it's the real deal.

Any further ideas?
