My newest and already most popular package is finally on Cydia. It replaces the pink, low resolution biteSMS icon to the stock, high quality, green SMS icon. It's called "biteSMS to RETINA SMS Icon"
Please support me and download it. Thanks.

Hey its cool you remember me, sorry for mixing you up, alot of ppl started this bitesms to sms icon thing. Thanks for taking the time to actually do it. Will your package also change the small lockscreen bitesms icons as well? And why winterboard? Even though i don't see a shadow, ppl say it takes the icon shadows away.

    Thanks
    AE

Your method still requires WinterBoard, though, right? Winterboard is a bad solution for me since it disabled the shadowing behind the white text on the iPhone 4.

This is the method I used: download new MobileTerminal for iOS4 from xsellize repo

    1) cd /var/stash/Applications/biteSMS.app/
    2) cp icon@2x.png icon@2x.png.bak
    3) cp ../MobileSMS.app/icon@2x.png .

Then Respring through SBSettings or whatever else you use to do so.

Did you activate it in winterboard?

    Hi,

the package doesn't work sadly. And yes as the guy above me mentioned, Winterboard is annoying, enabling springboard within winterboard causes grey text, disabling it still doesnt allow shadowing, not that I care. Maybe you can just do a whole package with all the icons in the zip, if you have time sir.

    Thanks

I have had 5 people confirm that it works. You just need to activate it in winterboard. There is no other way (in my knowledge) to do it via a cydia package without winterboard.

Activated it in Winterboard...still didn't work. I'm using an iPhone 4 on 4.0.1.

Oh **** you are right, i forgot to activate it in the themes, sorry man. Deeply sorry :) can you do multiple icons then? maybe then it will be worth installing winterboard. BTW, I appreciate your work and only asking for more icons if you have time.

    Thanks

    Hi,

There is a zip somewhere here with 60+ icons for apps. that should be more than enough if you can just package that. Oh also how can I get the ROGERS icon? please :)

If you want the zip, search for a thread that goes something like "icons for normal apps" or similar

    Thanks

for those who don't want to winterboard:
    go into
    /private/var/stash/Applications/MobileSMS.app
then copy and replace icon@2x.png to
    /private/var/stash/Applications/biteSMS.app

    edit:
also to change the name from biteSMS to Messages, go into /private/var/stash/Applications/biteSMS.app/info.plist and change
    <key>CFBundleDisplayName</key>
    <string>biteSMS</string>

Hey everyone. Maybe I'm dumb but I cant figure this out. I installed the package in cydia and then went into winterboard and put a check mark next to it.... Is that all it takes to activate the theme? cause nothing changed.

Once you've got it checked in Winterboard, back out until you see the "respring" button on the top left part of the screen. Tap that, let it do it's thing, and it should work. It worked perfectly for me (3GS on iOS4).

Hey everyone, I found a fix. The original package I made replaced the icon if you downloaded biteSMS from xSellize. The people who had the problems downloaded it from BigBoss. There is a difference in the file structure in the two packages. My updated package will replace the icon whether you downloaded from xSellize or BigBoss (hopefully).

I am letting some people try out the fixed package before I let it out to the world just in case it doesn't work either.

Alright here it is guys. The moment of truth. I hope this works for all of you. I've had someone else try it already with positive results.
