Changing default location for "Movies" in iTunes. Moved all onto external HDD.

Just brought home my new external hard disk - it works fine. (for now)

I've now moved all of my movies (which were, and still are in my iTunes library) from the User>Music>iTunes>Movies folder to my hard disk.

Now, when i try and play a movie, naturally it says "The movie could not be played because the original file has not been found. Would you like to locate the file?".

So - yes, I locate the file and everything's back to normal, but the trouble is, i've got 240 movies to go through! All are stored in the same folder, so it's just a case of clicking "Yes" for each file and looking through the external hard disk to find the movie.

1) Is there a quicker way to locate all of the movies in my library? Perhaps using automator? (I don't know how to use this, so any instructions would be greatly appreciated) Or can it be done another way?

AND/OR, BETTER STILL...

2) Is there a way of changing the default "Movies" folder for iTunes (like you can do for the default "Music" folder) through some sort of advanced preferences menu? I suppose this would rectify the problem in number 1, as well as make sure all movies that are downloaded in the future are placed in this folder automatically.

Move them all back to where they were - and don't do that again! OS X doesn't like that.

Then, in iTunes, delete them all, but do not move files to the trash - select 'Keep copy'.

THEN move the files back onto your external HDD.

In iTunes prefs > Advanced, untick 'Copy files to iTunes folder when adding to library'.

Re-import the files into iTunes (by selecting them all and dragging them onto the iTunes icon in the dock, for example).

Re-tick the box in iTunes prefs.

You're done. Now please send me some money.

Now i've just gotta wait another 3 hours for the movies to be copied back into my iTunes folder.

Any ideas what I can do while i'm waiting?

One more question - any way I can get all movies downloaded from the store to automatically go to this new folder in my eHDD?

That I don't know I'm afraid.

iTunes likes to be left to its own devices - it wants to put files where it wants instead of the user dictating. You may have to do this each time.

Maybe someone else will know that one...
