It seems AirTags were meant to me charged on the Apple Watch charge, they nutrally fit together, but upon doing this, a straight out of the box Air Tag WILL NOT charge on one, no matter the power adapter I am using to connect to, and will not charge, will not connect to anything but iPhone 11Pro. What am I doing wrong?

They have a replaceable battery (CR2032) ... they are NOT rechargeable... where did you get that crazy idea?

I actually think they are this shape as either they were going to be sealed and use the Apple Watch charger, or they intend to in ta he future. why else would you make them this awkward shape.

Because the battery they wanted to use is round, and the smallest shape you can make that encases a round item is therefore also round. They're going for size and style, not usability, but hey that's Apple for you.

Update! I left the tag on the AppleWatch charger overnight and BOOM 100% charge. I think Apple knows these batteries charge longer than Lithium-Ion batteries and left that out of the marketing material. I was at 28% battery out of the box, over night with the watch charger it went to 100%. I think there is a bug in the charger that it doesn't throw the lighting icon when is connected to a primary source, AKA a new battery. So, indeed, you CAN charge tag a battery out of a watch charger, but it takes a LONG time.

B. S. There's no magnetic charging coil in the AirTags, and the CR2032 batteries are definitely not rechargeable.

It worked though, that at is all I am saying. And I know this because those batteries can be recharged, my grandfather was a watch repairer and jeweler, he recycled watch batteries all the time to sell to new customers.

so, ok, I am crazy for waiting for a primitive battery to take 12 hours to recharge . We'll talk again in year when you have to plop in a new battery, while I just pop it on the watch charger overnight and be good as new.
