iPod touch charging ipod touch with usb 1.0

I just received my new ipod in the mail today but my new imac won't be here for a couple days. Will I hurt the ipod by charging and using it on my G4 with old usb ports so I can play with it until my new computer gets here? I know it would take longer to charge and transfer data, but I can't think of any reason it would hurt it. But apple batteries are a funny thing. Just thought I'd ask before doing.

Great Question

That's a great question and I really don't know for sure but I would think "power is power" regardless of the speed at which it arrives.

But, as you say, it's an Apple battery so, who knows?

You'll be fine. Syncing will take forever over USB 1.1 though.
