So this is kind of creepy

WaPo Local said:
A Manassas City teenager accused of “sexting” a video to his girlfriend is now facing a search warrant in which Manassas City police and Prince William County prosecutors want to take a photo of his erect penis, possibly forcing the teen to become erect by taking him to a hospital and giving him an injection, the teen’s lawyers said. A Prince William County judge allowed the 17-year-old to leave the area without the warrant being served or the pictures being taken — yet.
Seems to me as though what they want to do is effectively create child pornography in order to fight child pornography – which appears to have been a private communication between two kids, not some kind of scheme to distribute illegal porn. To me, this looks just crazy.

I'm totaled confused here. He's accused of filming himself do some sex act and it was sent to his girl friend, and they want to film him with a erection to prove what? Something is totally messed up here.

If the do this, it's nothing a big deal to go though, with out giving you too much info. The injection it's self is nothing, just a little pinch. What hurts is the with drug they use, if the use the drug that is for sure to work. Well that gives you a stiffy, but it hurts, at least it did for me.

****ing ridiculous. And what 17 year old needs anything other than a soft breeze to get a boner?

Wait, there's an injection that will cause an erection?
News to me. I always believed erections led to injections.
Erections are caused by a build-up of a compound called cGMP in the muscle layers in the penis. I'm assuming the injection would contain that in order to cause an erection. Just based off my memory from my endocrinology class I took last semester.

The kid is 17, there are much easier ways to give the kid an erection. Hell when I was 17, it seemed like it if it was 1 minute before class was out an erection of on it's way.

So are the police going to use some sort of boner recognition software to prove it's his penis?

So what if it was his penis in the text message? Is it good or bad?

I am confused, is it ok if it's his penis? Maybe if it's an 18 year old penis and not his 17 year old penis then he won't be brought up on distributing child porn?

I'm guessing they want to prove it is his because if it is then he is 17 and that is child porn. If it turns out to be some dude that is 18 then it is ok i guess.

It is a great way to ruin your life to be under 18 and send a naked pic of yourself to your GF and get caught. Now you can be lumped in with the 50 year old pervert that molests 8 yr old kids.

Yeah, I wonder how this case came about. Did the GF get mad at him or did her parents find out. If I have time I am going check this out later. If the guy waited until his birthday and he was 18 and the GF was still under 18 would they then try to bust him as a child predator? I agree this case is crazy, no charges should be brought against the kid, unless he did it in the past and was asked to stop and continued to send such text, but I wouldn't make it a child pornography charge. If anything, a misdemeanor.

It depends on the state law they are going to use. If you are in California, no, not as a predator. 261.5 PC vs 288 PC. The 261.5 was specifically setup to handle this type of scenario without labeling them as a pedophile. However there are also enhancements since you are now sending lewd pictures of a minor.

The whole taking a picture of the boy's genitalia just seems wrong and I am really surprised the judge allowed this.

The punishment we mete out in this country is ridiculous. We're way too eager to brand someone for life.

OT: Justin Bieber throws eggs at his neighbor's house and part of his punishment was an $81,000 fine. A West Virginia chemical company poisons the water for 300,00 people and gets an $11,000 fine.

I agree Bieber's fine was too weak, he should be in prison.:D

Yeah, I wonder how this case came about.
From what I've read, the girlfriend is 15 years old, and either she repeatedly told him to stop sending the pictures/videos, or her parents repeatedly told him to stop sending them. Either way, it appears he was warned and when he didn't stop, the police were notified.

That was quick.

Police in Virginia say they no longer will pursue efforts to take sexually explicit photos of a 17-year-old in an effort to prove a sexting case against him.

Police and prosecutors faced a wave of criticism following media reports that they had obtained a warrant to take photos of the teen's erect penis. Police wanted the pictures to compare against photos he is accused of sending to his 15-year-old girlfriend at the time.

On Thursday, Manassas Police Lt. Brian Larkin said the Police Department will not proceed with the plan to take the pictures and will let a search warrant authorizing the photos to expire.

Thanks, that makes the story understandable now. It's really unfortunate that it has come to this.

That's a testament to the absolute failure of the American justice system. Proof that we need to re-examine our system as a whole.

Two teens sending each other naked pics = bad.

Court forcing teen to strip naked and be forcibly injected with a drug to produce court sanctioned child pornography = good.

Only in America.

Gladly they came to their senses, but the fact that this even was in question is pathetic. This country needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

I'm not condoning what the kids did, but kids are stupid and do stupid things. Especially with technology since the older generations have done a piss poor job of educating their kids on the do's and don'ts of technology, partly because many adults don't even understand half of it. Teach the kids it's wrong and that they need to make better choices, and have some ****ing discrection when applying laws instead of just brainlessly trying to lock up every single person we can. This law was designed to protect teens from predators.. not to protect two classmates that are two years apart in age.

From what I've read, the girlfriend is 15 years old, and either she repeatedly told him to stop sending the pictures/videos, or her parents repeatedly told him to stop sending them. Either way, it appears he was warned and when he didn't stop, the police were notified.
From what I read, the girl was a willing participant and sent photos of herself as well. Probably before her parents found out, then she changed her tune.

Typical American hypocritical double standards.

Good that they actually grew brains. Pathetic that it took pressure from the media to do it. This country is in a sad place if **** like this can even happen in the first place.

What judge issues a warrant like that?

The people who tried to pull this off are clearly insane.

How are pepople who abuse power like this even allowed to continue?

And most important: Why is there a county in the USA named after Prince William?

And most important: Why is there a county in the USA named after Prince William?
It is named for the Duke of Cumberland, son of King George the Sequel; as opposed to Prince William Sound in Alaska, which was named for the son of Return of the King George. The current next-heir to the throne is the Duke of Cambridge.
