http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/08/09/choking.game/index.html?section=cnn_topstories I can't believe someone would actually do this to themselves. I almost cried when reading the story.
isn't that the same thing? what is it with kids trying to get high or whatever? why cant people just be normal and not try cutting blood to the brain... -_-
You're joking, right? Marijuana is non-lethal. This is lethal. Doesn't sound like the same thing at all to me. As for the practice, I remember when I was around 16 being told about the "california high," which is just a different name for the same behavior. I'm glad I was too busy smoking marijuana to try it.
-I'm stunned. Not in the contents of the story - but the newsworthyness of it. Interesting that this is making the news now - when I remember kids dying of doing exactly this in my High School 15 years ago. What took the media so long? Now that's a slow news day and overly developed need for ratings and controversey to go digging through the 'old news archive' to resurrect this dusty 'ol thing. What's next? "Removing manhole covers and why it's bad!" "Tooth decay - the new Plague." "Death, the secret killer." "Rocks, they're not edible!" "Breathing is good." Sorry to rant to the risk of hijacking the thread, but the media really gets me sometimes. They make so much of something just to justify their own existence.
Thats a really sad story to hear. Off topic (sort of), isnt it impossible to strangle yourself to death with just your hands? I thought that after you lost consciousness, your grip would loosen... not that it matters, just thinking that when i was reading the story.
