I am using an old G4 iMac as my music station and want the library attached via a USB drive. Here's the problem.

My girlfriend has been buying music on the iMac and ripping the occasional CD to its hard drive. I now a USB drive with the bulk of our library and want to do a one-way sync, adding the music that is in user/Music/iTunes to Music:/iTunes.

I could do a fully 2-way sync using Chronosync, but there isn't enough room on the iMac's drive to hold a copy of what is on the USB drive. Chronosync also has blind backup and regular backup mode. Will one of these work? Is there another way?

One of things that I am also concerned about. Say there is a Beatles folder on the iMac with Rubber Soul, and another Beatles folder on the USB drive with Revolver and Abbey Road. I wouldn't want the folder with Rubber Soul to overwrite the Beatles folder and its contents on the iTunes volume. At the end of it, I want to find Revolver, Abbey Road and Rubber Soul in the USB drive's Beatles folder.

Finally, if there are protected mp4 files on the iMac that have an ALAC version already on the USB, I certainly don't want the lower resolution files to overwrite the ALACs.
