Seems to be a hotly debated topic, as noted from another thread I am currently partaking in. Thoughts? Is it medically necessary to circumcise your son? Is it purely cultural? Religious? Advantages? Disadvantages?

    Hello, I am Meister.

My father was circumcised, but I am the proud owner of some beautiful foreskin.

I think circumcision performed without consent (on children) is assault (child abuse).

    99.9% cultural.

As a general rule, you should not remove healthy, functional tissue ... unless that choice is made by an adult, and the procedure is being done to them.

Removing the foreskins of children (babies) should not be done without a direct medical reason for doing so.

Gun regulation is discussed daily. So is abortion and homosexuality.
This is something else for a change.

For me it's a clean cut case. A person has a right to decide which parts of their body to keep.
Permanently removing a part of a baby is criminal.

Do feminists support female circumcision in the name of gender equality?

    Benefits of keeping your foreskin:
    • Crazy pleasurable sex
    • Your penis is bigger when flaccid
    • Protects head from rubbing on fabrics such as underwear and pants
    • ...
    • ...
Seeing that I'm cut, I'm sure I'm missing some

Did you...like...inherit it or something? How'd he manage to get it to keep for all those years so he could pass it down to you?

I got the cut in my early teenage years (I'm pretty sure I've discuss this in this very thread now that I think about it). Though I was too young to have sex, I was smacking it plenty, and I'll tell you that as far as sensitivity goes, it doesn't make a huge amount of difference. The biggest thing is that the foreskin slides over the most sensitive bits, which I could imagine would feel a little better for everyone involved during sexy happy time.

Though if you feel like you're missing out, there are stretching exercises you can do that are fairly safe, and apparently work surprisingly well. The only downside is that it takes 2-3 years to do properly, and it looks awkward as hell. You'd have to really, really want that extra bit of foreskin to do it.

edit: Wait. This is a different circumcision thread.

    That's a trick question. They're FEMINISTS. They don't care.

I would like to say THANKS to my mom and dad for getting me circumcised at birth. I could not imagine getting it done as an adult. Oooooouch!

As Renzatic pointed out. It is indeed possible to get this coveted skin back if you desire....

It's a surgical procedure that needs the consent of a guardian, just like anything else until the child is 18. It is much easier and much less remberable for the child if you do it at birth.

What would be cruel, is waiting until they have the ability to remember and/or play with it. As an infant, it is quick/easy and harmless.

    ... and pointless.
    You are justifying child mutilation.

"We cut his ears off, when he was young, because it would hurt more when he is older. He can always use prothesis if he ever wants ears. It's a cultural thing. :)"

There are future positives of getting the procedure done right away.

1.Cleaner; less likely to get UTI's.
    2. Less likely to get certain STD's, and other diseases like HIV
3.If you do have medical problems, you may have to have it removed anyway(as an adult) and I can only imagine the pain.

...ahaha and pointless... which I prefer, as a look.:D

Yeah, no one cuts ears off here. What are you talking about?

While you keep bringing useful body parts as some sort of a comparison, would you mind listing all of the imortant functions of foreskin, please? I do not understand your point. ;)
