I know that when you have an iPhone unlocked through the carrier or a factory unlocked, the lock status gets transferred to the replacement iPhone from the Genius bar. Anyone know if the same is true for eBay unlocked iPhones? Will my Genius replacement carry the same status or does Apple somehow it was from an unauthorized source with access to the whitelist?

Yes, as long as it is on the official Apple whitelist it will always transfer over, it's part of the replacement process.

Yes the unlock status should be transferred to the warranty replacement during the replacement.

The Apple Genius has access to a screen that displays the lock/unlock status of the iPhone. The screen indicates the status and even the date the unlock was processed!:D

It is always a good idea to verify that they confirm with you the correct status for any unlocked device before you accept the replacement.
