Hi all, searched high and low and can't find an answer to this
I'm going to be clean installing High Sierra on my SSD MacBook Pro next week and I'm unsure what partition format to select when I erase my main volume. Should I select APFS or APFS (Encrypted)? If I kept it as HFS+ and allowed the installer to convert it during setup, which one would the installer pick for me?
Currently my drive is not encrypted with FileVault if it has anything to do with that?
Also, if it does select the encrypted version, do I have to provide a password and if I do will it ask me for it before the operating system begins to load? That happened to me once when I tried FileVault and I hated it!
Thanks,
A very confused mac owner!
