if mankind were to clone humans do you think that the clones would have their own individual souls?
They'd have souls if the original did. Whether or not people have souls at all is another topic.
Nothing has a soul... that's just religious cobblers.
but (saying that souls exist) how would a soul be split amoung more than one being... let's say they cloned 10, 20, 30 of the same individual... would they each have a share to one soul or would they each have their own individual souls?
A soul is not something you have... it's something you are.
Isn't this a debate best left to the musicians in this genre.
Clone a couple/few of them and still see if they've "got it" and can crank out some all new soul music.
the number of souls would increase according to the fibonnaci series.
who knows, i believe that they would have their own distinct identity or personality.
that said. i don't believe cloning is a good idea. but it isnt necessarily immoral to me.
it's just science.
And they would each give an Elliot Wave as they passed.
Well I'll tell you what... I'm not religious, but I do have a soul.
And when the day comes that my heart stops beating or I get vaporized by a WMD, I'm leaving that tired old cumbersome body behind and I'm gonna fly.
A soul is just living energy, and if they were alive and conscious, then yes they would. It wouldn't be the same soul though, just like twins have different souls. As do progeny when you reproduce. It's a whole 'nother person.
Cloning is probably a bad idea for obvious reasons, but also probably an inevitability.
i would say that in a hundred years a sadistic ruler of goverment will want to wipe out everyone and try to create a perfect race (like, Hitler) and with cloning a reality... *shivers*
This would come back to what a Soul is....are you saying your soul is who you are..IE if we cloned Hitler he would come back as a racist? I doubt it, you a product of your environment, something happen to Hitler to fill him with hate.
However if we keep the current people in Office in the US, we will never find out in the US, as they will say its a sin!
Clones? What clones would these be then?
Reality? Whose reality would this be then?
well, say some sadistic government decides to try to create the perfect human through DNA and then clone them.. i mean, cloning is happening behind your eyes as we speak, whether or not it's legal or not, it's happening right now and we won't know for many years because they can't at the moment speed up the aging process, but in many years from now there will be cloned humans walking amounst us whether we'll know it or not
We'll see cloning through livestock first. We already do artificial insemination and stuff like that. Pretty soon that perfect heffer will come along...
Let's just hope it's delicious.
But wait, all that methane from the cow's ass will cause global warming won't it?
Was that a statement saying Clone is bad, or Global warming is not our fault?
I think not. My evidence:

Life is a spiritual existence in a physical illusion. Souls are what we do with it.
anything that has life, yes, has a soul.
It's the reincarnation problem. Say 5,000 years ago, there were less than a million people. Now there are 6 Billion. Are we each just a small part of those original souls? Or are new souls created? And if new souls are created, why wouldn't clones get their own, they are concious individuals who rather than containing chromosomes from a mother and father merely have the same chromosomes.
awesome point there, but there's the difference... from getting a mixture of chromosones from a mother & father it would create a unique individual, whereas if the individual was created using the exact chromosones, it wouldn't be unique but a carbon copy of itself
Nothing's happening behind my eyes apart from wishing it was lunch time.
You do realise, the alumin(i)um foil hats actually amplify the radio signals at government used frequencies? - http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/
Here's a question for you: Do identical twins have one or two souls?
