Well if you were lucky enough last night/early this morning to check out CNet's site post-midnight, you would have been one of the lucky few to see their new ultimate deathmatch: OS X vs. XP. even better; you would have loved to learn that OS X won!! the funny thing is - sometime between then and now, CNet pulled the deathmatch from their front page, replacing it with a MS vs. Government story. could it be an instance of Microsoft strongarming a company into pulling bad publicity for a product they are now really pushing??

You just gotta dig now...

The article is still there.....

you just have to dig around for it now, which is a major bummer.
I think the Microsoft/DOJ case is all over the news everywhere, so not sure if the "strongarming" thing has any merits. Although it does seem fishy of CNET. They could've replaced the PDA splash with the microsoft/doj splash. But oh well.

and now they have delcared a "tie"

"Some of you may have noticed that in an earlier version of this story, we gave a slight edge to OS X. One of the primary factors behind this decision was the cost of each upgrade as it relates to licensing requirements. Although it is true that OS X lacks a feature like Windows XP's product activation that would bar you from installing it on more than on system, it is still a violation of Apple's end-user licensing agreement to install the upgrade on multiple systems. We regret any misleading information in the initial version, which has now been updated to clarify this issue. "

That sucks....
