Forgive my rant, but this seems like something that's dead simple to implement: provide a list of speakers with volume control, let the user pick them. But Apple's just got to do their thing, right? Animation! So, let's make the targets move around as you click them. Make it a game. And, if the user clicks on a space that was a button but is no longer, lets cancel all the selections and make the user start over. Only do it super slowly and cut the music off in the meantime. And then let's group speakers as the user clicks them, for no apparent reason except to give them another moving target and give them another step to make a future change. And talking about volume, why not add some randomness to individual speaker volumes rather than just keep them at whatever level they were last set? Let's just ever so slightly change them each time. And we'll make the controls tiny. Teeny tiny. Minimal enough to be impossible to set easily or accurately. That's our thing.
