I'm about to buy a 20'' apple cinema display (the previous aluminum version) off craigslist, and I wanted to confirm that these displays will work with my new unibody macbook pro as long as I have the minidsiplayport/dvia adaptor, correct? Is anyone using an older apple cinema display with a new unibody mbp or mb? How does it look?

I've gone through three brand new dell displays, and all of them have just had awful text reproduction on the mac os x side. Black text always has these red and blue halos around it. This has to do with the way mac os handle anti-aliasing, and unfortunately, no amount of calibrating or shutting off the font smoothing in the appearance control panel will alleviate this issue. I'm sure it's mac os x, because when I boot into bootcamp, everything looks great. Cleartype does a much better job displaying text!
