iPod touch Confused!

I have two questions!

1. How have people already got a iPod Touch when it says on the Apple website that it is out on 28th of September? BTW I live in the Uk
2. Is it possible for you to download files from the internet onto your iPod, stuff like pictures and music clips.

1. We in the UK are second class apple citizens. Not really, its probably more to do with the logistics of moving these things around the world, customs clearance etc. I think the distribution centre is in the Republic of Ireland too, so that will slow things down a bit.

2. I don't believe you can. I read it wasn't possible to this with the iPhone. It doesn't have a browsable file system (at least not easily browsable).

So does anyone know when the iPod will be available in stores in the UK?

Does it mean that there are no hacks to allow me to download things from the web directly onto my iPod?

There are no hacks to allow you to download from the web. The Touch is only designed to download songs from the iTunes Music Store.
