I've read countless artlicles on the web about people calling the iPhone 4, 4G. I didn't see or read anything offical from apple stating that they have a 4G network on AT&T. In fact, the demos for the iPhone 4 all show it using 3G.

So my question is: Is there any truth to AT&T going to a 4G network, or are people just confused?

It is confusing for people who aren't up-to-date it must be said.

People thought the iPhone 3G was third generation, when in fact it was only second, and people think iP4 will have 4G when it won't.

I have even had someone confused between 3G and the network, '3'.

Blame stupid journalists. I've been complaining about the terminology all along. Apple would have never called this phone "4G", but the press insisted.

They are. Just not yet. From what I've read, first installations in 1-2 years.
