While Americans were distracted by the Kavanaugh clown show, the Senate and house both passed a monstrous spending bill. This will drive us further into debt and will gift the military with more than $600 billion dollars. The Republicans are spending money like drunken sailors with no consideration for the people who have to pick up the tab for their reckless behaviour. This must stop. Let's see if Trump is a man of his word (hah!) and if he will veto this travesty. There weren't a lot of no votes on this thing, so there is plenty of blame to go around.

Neither side is interested in reducing the size of government as it will limit their power.

The Fiscal Responsibility and War Party... it’s only money until we are the minority, then we’ll scream like hell about spending on social programs.

Just a second there, sparky! They didn't pass this bill alone or in a vacuum. They had a large number of Democratic votes in both the Senate and House that allowed them to pass this. Both parties are to blame for this, not just the unprincipled and dishonest Republicans. They all got their fingers sticky in this pie and it looks like everyone got something they wanted.

Cut taxes, spend more then you bring in, sounds like a winning plan.

Both parties are to blame. But at least the Dems make it pretty clear that they want to tax you so that they can spend spend spend on countless pet projects. The Republicon politicians, on the other hand, say that they are fiscally responsible, but they act exactly like the spendaholic Democrats.

At least the people that vote and elect the Democrats know what their politicians will do with their money.

The people who vote for Republicans are the ones that are fools, the ones that fall for the outright lies. Their elected politicians told them that their money will not be wasted…. but as soon as the GOP politicians are elected, they do exactly what the Democrat politicians do, they wastefully spend the money of the citizens.

Somewhere, perhaps here, it has been pointed out that the children, who do not get a vote next month, are the ones who will have to deal with whatever fiscal crisis arises down the road: “taxation without representation” was the slogan for the revolution, but it also seems to be exactly how we are treating the next generation. Who will have deal with other ugly things of our doing, as well.

That is true, but with Democrats it is typical for them (but still deserve a slap).

The "fiscally responsible", "small gov" Republicans are the ones not living up to their campaign promises and operational goals.

Yep. It's par for the course with them and is how they've always acted when in power. Their voters are willfully blind to it, for some reason.
