Disgusting. What Broun should've done is immediately denounce the call for violence and have the guy thrown out of the town hall, arrested, and interviewed by the Secret Service.

I really don't understand why these "leaders" don't actually speak up when they see something cross these red lines.

I think you answered your own question in the form of scare quotes.

Because they're not leaders, they're cowards, and I honestly would not be surprised if this congressman is hoping it happens. He's already called Obama a socialist who doesn't believe in the constitution and questioned his citizenship and whether or not he's a Christian (as if that matters). The guy is ******* insane.

Brown should of forcefully denounced this comment except he probably thought it was good for his Party. :(

This is the same guy that stayed in his office during the state of the union and name-called Obama on Twitter. This guy is a joke.

That idiot, being what he is ;) , was probably too stupid to realise that he was committing a Federal crime.

I hope we get the story forward, on this one.

    THREATS AGAINST PRESIDENT
18 USC 871, makes it a Federal crime or offense for anyone to willfully make a true threat to injure or kill the President of the United States.

A person can be found guilty of that offense only if all of the following facts are proved beyond a reasonable doubt:

    First: That the person uttered words alleged to be the threat against the President;

Second: That the person understood and meant the words he used as a true threat; and

Third: That the person uttered the words knowingly and willfully.

A "threat" is a statement expressing an intention to kill or injure the President; and a "true threat" means a serious threat as distinguished from words used as mere political argument, idle or careless talk, or something said in a joking manner.

The essence of the offense is the knowing and willful making of a true threat. So, if it is proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the person knowingly made a true threat against the President, willfully intending that it be understood by others as a serious threat, then the offense is complete; it is not necessary to prove that the person actually intended to carry out the threat.

I would say they should stop.

My reasoning for that is because the crazier the GOP becomes the more crap the Dems will be allowed to get away with.

The system already is choose which pill of crap stinks less. Now that the GOP is becoming stinker the Dems will be allowed to become stinker as well and still get away with it.

Really when was the last time we really voted for the better of 2 candidates. We have been choosing the lesser of 2 evils for a long time now and the evils are just get worse. I though Obama was crap and just a talking head from day 1. I though McCain was not much better as he would of been status Quo which was clearly not good.

GOP needs to clean up if for the very least to make the Dems better instead of letting them get worse and shove over crap down on us.

Does be less crazy really need a partisan justification?

Yay, the equivalence game. I wonder if Sheehan or the maker of the film understood they were going to give conservative cover for every hare-brained comment about the assassination of a president. And, did you see the film?

What's important I think is that a Congressman doesn't say anything and that's a failure of leadership, regardless of party.
