Not really, it seems it never happened to you and based on what you said, if it ever happens to you, someone will get hurt or killed.

    ----------

I don't think anyone here is hoplophobic, most people that want more regulations or even a ban have already handled a gun. A real hoplophobic person would never even dare approach one.

Well for the health of everyone let's hope nobody points a gun at me, or breaks into my home.

Specify and post evidence of such.

Do you really want me to show proof that sometimes intruders rape?

Ah you meant the 0.6% of cases that rape is involved?

You're willing to kill someone for that small chance? Good thing I don't know you personaly. And assuming that you're a guy, that percentage drops a lot more.

From your link, "In 7% of all
    household burglaries, a household member
experienced some form of violent victimization."

Yes, I would try to kill someone to prevent that from happening to my family.

The 7% includes people that took self-defence action. It is logically much lower if it only included people that did not fight back, armed or not.

I am sincerely more scared of people like you over a criminal breaking in to steal things.

I assure you that there are many more options for defending yourself and family than instant and total capitulation, throwing a can of peas, or blasting the bad guy with a gun. I urge you to broaden your mind and avail yourself to the information available on home and self defense.

I really don't care if it's a one in 1 million chance, I don't gamble when it comes to protecting my family.
You have no reason to fear me, as long as you're not breaking into my house.

Of course you do. The gun is no sure thing. You're still gambling.

You're a potential killer, that's enough reason for me.

How do you send your kids to school?

Chances are much greater than 1 out of million for them to get hurt.

    ----------

Take my things, they can get replaced. My health cannot be replaced.

About 99% steal something and less than 7% will attempt to hurt me.

    1. Unless you sit down next to her during class all day, there is still a risk. And you're not James Bond with the gun

    3. Taking out the gun increases chance of injury/death.

It increases on both sides. What's the point trying to defend your family when your actions increases their chance of being injured or worse killed?

rather depends on the situation, if the guy means more than just taking property then I will defend my family , if he just wants property then have at it.

That's not what TheAppleFairy said and that's not you initially said.

Of course if someone threatens to hurt my family, I'll do my best to fight back.

didn't know I had to be that specific, I have stated a few times that property is pretty easy to replace. when my son got mugged at knife point, I was thankful that is where things ended, $100 & 2 days later he had a replacement iphone . I didn't go George Zimmerman & started patrolling the area, lost 3 Trek bikes all stolen at night, lesson learned, buy cheap walmart bikes & if that is stolen oh well.

Do you really? Just curious and couldn't tell if you were joking. I thought all school zones were supposed to be gun free.

The gun is not the equalizer the person with the gun is.

Do I need to quote your dropped magazines and jams when put under the stress of the clock?
