I'm seriously considering switching from a PC to a 24" Imac. I've been using Logic Audio since v4, and currently use Logic Audio Platinum 5.x (Can't remember the exact sub-version). I've read that the new Logic Pro 8 won't open my old songs but Logic 7 can, and will re-save them in a format that Logic Pro 8 can open.
Is anyone able to confirm that?

If I do switch, the Apple store shows an upgrade to Logic Studio from Logic Platinum for £129. Would Apple be able to provide something like an older v7 installation or a time limited demo I can use to convert my old songs?

It's not a major issue as I'm not that prolific, I'd probably only have about 10-15 songs to convert and can export them as individual audio tracks & a midi file if necessary but it would be nice to get all the automation etc transferred over.
