Cops need to removed the motto: To Serve and Protect.

While we're at it, we need to stop calling 'Muerica: Land of the Free.

Gun Crimes are down in 2017 when compared to 2016, but the 5 year trend is not looking too good.

    what do you mean?

At any rate, the real problem is not that they get paroled, but that about 70% of released prisoners get rearrested within 3 years.

no good rehabilitation programs, they need some kind of skills other than stealing so they can integrate themselves into society .

JK implied that that program, instituted in 2016 and rejecting 80% of applicants, was a driving factor. Shootings have been increasing a lot longer than that, and you can bet your ass that cases of people released being responsible would be headline news for the right wing outlets every time.

I’m pointing out that his assertion is without merit.

Could be the progression of programmed anger I’ve noticed in the USA for those years.

Ah, so the police department’s own *assertion* is proof.

I don’t share that strain of authoritarian thinking. The claim of an interested party without data to back it up is not proof, and Gish Gallop-ing figures that don’t relate to the claim isn’t proof either.

you would think that in a good economy anger & crime would be down assuming people are employed........
