why is he doing that?
yeap, not buying his BS.
Not getting the "why" on this either ...
If only he'd propose a national license for useless career politicians--with very stringent criteria!--his poll numbers would be through the roof.
headlines, media coverage, etc
Booker is demonstrating his socialism.
Trying to get some media attention. All the talk seems to be focused on Sanders and Biden.
Does he have a piece in there on somehow getting the correct information so a "data correct" check can occur?
He can take a long walk off a short pier.
Personally I hope he is chosen as the democrats nomination. If he keeps this rhetoric up 1. Gun sales will go through the roof and 2. He won't get elected.
However they will probably see how unpopular this plan is and they will tone it down to keep him in the running.
I agree that Booker is not going to win the nomination, but his gun control positions are not the reason. Stricter gun control laws, including registration, enjoy 60-70 percent support overall, and considerably greater than 80 percent support among Democrats.
keywords there in bold.
The 60 to 70 percent support is among all Americans. What he’s proposing has majority support in this country.
polls are pretty irrelevant.
Most people have no real clue what is in current gun control laws nor what the current process gaps are.
That places the polls pretty much in the "factually useless" bucket.
Step 1: educate the public on what is currently in place and the current gaps
Step 2: ...
I blame the media for this. They know what happened last time out when all they did was follow the names everyone ever heard of. They should take some recent national "name recognition poll" results and flip it upside down and start interviewing all the ones in the "new top", i.e. the names most of us draw a blank on so far. By time we ever heard of them, they've dropped out of the race for lack of funds.
Source Please. The only numbers I have seen that back your comment was a telephone poll sponsored by a anti-gun group.
Hardly seems unreasonable.
