Does anyone know what it costs Apple every time they make a new version of iTunes?

Depends on how much of an update it is. And it gets even more complicated if you considered how much it'd cost Apple to not update iTunes!

Just curious, I didn't realize I was offending anyone by asking that.

All depends on how long they take between upgrades, and how many people and buildings are used for the iTunes staff. Then add to that the costs they may need to buy new technology, if they add IP owned by someone else.

Though there is the direct cost of training staff and customer service, along with all the bandwidth cost in taking the upgrade live.
