Create or modify a template in numbers

i'm a bartender and my goal is to be able to have a file in the numbers application where i can input the amount of money i make each night for my own records. This would give me an accurate ytd, monthly, and weekly income record .... to put expenses in the same template would be great too, but i don't know if that is possible... i'm new to the program so please excuse my ignorance if this is simple
