In iOS 11 beta, there’s a new feature: system-wide “Create PDF” share sheet extension.

Although I see this extension on my iPad Pro 12.1 on beta 9, I can’t seem to get it to show up on my iPad Pro 9.7 on beta 9 (I could have sworn I’ve seen it on there before). I do not see it listed in the “More” list of actions either. Is there some setting that I have to tick to make this work? Thanks for any insight.

(Edited to add that this is true in all apps -- I get the action in the share sheet in Safari on the 12.1 but not the 9.7. Exact same build of iOS 11 (beta 9) on both. )

I don’t have it on my iPhone 7 running beta 9. Do you happen to have a PDF creator app installed on your 12.1 that’s not on your 9.7?
Edit: I do have it actually. It’s only available for stuff you can print though. I tried it with a screenshot and didn’t work but a webpage for instance does work.

Yeah, I'm doing this from Safari on both. It shows up on the 12.1 but not the 9.7. Same iOS 11 build on both. Very puzzling.

I don't think this is because of any apps i installed. My understanding is that this is an OS extension for iOS 11. In any event I do have the same apps on both iPads -- at least I believe so

It doesn't really help but for what it's worth I still see it on my 9.7" Pro.

I assume you’ve tried a restart and/or a hard reset?

Well, this is embarrassing—I hadn’t. But on your suggestion I did a restart, and it’s showing up now. Thanks for the help!

It does help, actually. It lets me know there was an issue (as it’s a feature that works on the same hardware). Restart fixed it. Thanks!

I shouldn’t have assumed. You know the saying goes, “when you assume, you make an a$$ out of you and me.” Ha. Glad it’s fixed. iOS 11 seems to have a lot of strange things like that where a restart fixes them.

I wouldn't have expected a restart to work normally.

But @Chazzle is correct. There have been a lot of weird things cleared up with a reset during this beta. Hopefully the GM is a bit more sane. "Have you tried turning it off and on again" is not a phrase I want to associate too closely with iOS as it's been very rare in the past for that to help.
