So I just got an iPhone 3G with the newest firmware and I'm trying to add custom ringtones. However, all I've found are instructions that work for windows but not mac. Can anyone help me out here? It seems like itunes in mac is quite different from itunes in windows. For example, when I right click the song in itunes, it doesn't give me the option to convert to aacand in the preferences bar, there isn't anything about importing in the advanced tab.

Do you have Garageband? You can import an unprotected song, trim to no more than 45 seconds, then click on Share and Send ringtone to iTunes.
