I'm trying to do step 4:

Step 4: Fixing Syncing and Installing Installer.app
Files you need:
Cyberduck- http://cyberduck.ch/

Download and open CyberDuck. Once running, log into your iPod Touch by using the same IP as above, the username root, and the password alpine. Make sure to use SFTP and not regular FTP. Once logged in, you will be presented with the folders on your iPod Touch.

but I can't connect. It would say that it connected then right away, it would disconnect and give me this error:

Connection Failed
A reference was made to a file that does not exist.

Any ideas?

Change the path you are connecting to. Put down either / or /Applications

That should work. I had the same problem.

there is no path that I entered. What I did so far was complete the Independence thing and then I tested my SSH using "ssh -l root your.ipods.ip.address" in terminal with no problems. Then I go into CyberDuck and enter: IP address, username, password. There was no "path" that I know of. Please explain

Oh snap (lol)...I know what you mean..haha let me try it and see if it works! BRB!

lol, dude, i'm stuck again! where the hell is /private/var/root at?

EDIT: ah, nevermind. I just typed it into the path and it connected there for me..now on to installing installer.app wish me luck b/c i've been having a lot of bad luck through every step of this process...man, i got so much other more important stuff to do too..lol

WTF!? I got everything going great. I installed Trip1PogoStick and after I rebooted, it gave me the plug into iTunes thing! WTF???
