Bill Bailey's comments on teenage pregnancy in the UK really are starting to make a lot of sense. We certainly do win at something here.

I believe the mother of the littler baby is the one in this picture...

So I take it, at 15 years old, her having sex with a 13 year old is not statutory rape in England?

*edit*May whatever is running this world give that child a chance, especially the baby.

I find it so disturbing and disgusting I can't even explain, perhaps because I don't want to think about it. <shudders>

He was 12 at the time.

In the UK the laws are different for females and males.

If the roles were reversed then the guy would most probably be up on a rape charge.

It's not *rape* per se, it depends on the case. Either way around, at that age, it's sexual assault.

Let's see, dad at 13, grandpa at 26, great grandpa at 39, great-great grandpa at 52, great-great-great grandpa at 65, great-great-great-great grandpa at 78, great-great-great-great-great grandpa at 91... there could conceivably be 8-9 generations alive at one point in this kid's lineage... wow... just wow...

This is just pathetic... by the looks of it the boy's puberty isn't even complete... what's going on with this World.... Ridiculous!

We're all giving away sex ed but where is the real moral values that need to be imparted while educating them... I for one am ashamed!

If that kid is the father then I'm Mary Poppins.

No, they are both under 16. If she was 16 at the time of conceiving then it would be rape.

What hurts is that I just knew it was going to be a UK story before I even clicked on the link :(

In all honesty I think the last thing either of these two children (because, after all, that's what they are) need is to be taken to court on some sex assault charge.

A very sad story all round.

Fixed that for her. I also worry their family seems to be doing the wrong kind of "pulling together".

The gradual taking over of the country by the benefits class continues. There will now be three generations of that family living without an income, and you can guarantee Chantelle (****, I hate that name ) will jump up the housing list now that she has a child. Where does it end?

Yep, this is where it ends. Well put.

    Nine-year-old writes dating book

I guess in a world where nine year olds give dating advise, it is to be expected.

    Grim… :(

    BBC Link

Well, the girl in the picture looks old enough to be his mother.

So long as they find it all so commendable, perhaps they should open their wallets wide to the cause:
