Are the political gods hearing me? This is a miracle. Fitzgerald is probably closing in on him.

It is a shame that he is not seeking reelection rather than being voted out of office. But either way, Daley out of office is a good thing.

    Shame

Like UCF said, its a shame Chicago did not VOTE him out.

Out with the old.... Unless Daley has a son himself to lend his name to.

We could not have voted him out if we tried. You guys don't know what its been like here politically. This is still a mob town. People were afraid to run against him. Our last voter turnout was pathetic because there was no one else to vote for except nut cases no one would ever want in office..

Then it sounds like you will continue to get people like Daley elected as Mayor. How much you want to bet, that Daley's hand-picked successor will win election as the new Mayor?

We definitely could. You're right, but I hope not.

    We can only hope.

we can only hope that this helps bring someone more honest into the Mayor's office, but its so hard to actually believe that. what a shame.

I guess we just have to wait and see who runs. Should be interesting to say the least.

I really don't think so, but anything is possible.

he's expressed interest but i think he figured that he would be done with his current position before it was a real possibility.

He does. Rumour has it that they are grooming him for the job.

Yes. it changes my support of Chicago's economy. I vowed in 2002 that I wouldn't step foot in Chicago or contribute to its economy until Daley was out of office, for what he did to Meigs Field. He deserved to be jailed for that alone.

Man, the same mayor for 20 straight years? At least Buddy was out of office for a while.
