Yea I've met a few. Southern hospitality. That's all I can say. Wonderful woman. What's your point? Your comments border on ridiculous.

What on earth (no pun intended) did they teach about astronomy back when the mom was in presumably in Texas public school? Having seen some excerpts of the science textbooks down there... I don't know if I'm joking or serious.

I am hoping this comment is taken out of context and she was actually referring to something else.

Maybe we should look to this science textbook for some answers?

Always a bit silly to see comments like 'creationists believe...'

Why not write 'meth heads believe...' or 'Trump believes...'

If those stupid bible heads put some Faith into Science they would know that the moon and Earth are both "flat" discs.

Are those pictures from an actual textbook?

She's obviously asking to reschedule the event the day before so kids could attend!

While the museum would likely tell her that the point of the event is precisely the actual eclipse, she's not asking to "reschedule the sun" or anything! it's not her who sounds dumb, it's all those fb comments - people jump any occasion to "comment" on anything even when they don't have a clue so that they can "show the world" how smart they are. Except it often has the opposite effect.

By the way there's actually someone who gets paid to write that piece? ...journalism these days....sometimes as useful as a facebook comment.

    Wow, that's all.

I'm driving 17 hours with my equipment for this eclipse, next "local" one is in 2024.

Well,well...education at its finest. In normal countries, even 10 year old kids know how a solar eclipse works...

This reminds me of the woman who wanted the deer crossings moved to a less busy highway.

Honestly, I think this eclipse thing is just a money making scheme by those "scientists" to funnel honest taxpayers money into "scientific" "research". Some people are getting very rich by selling lots of telescopes to gullible people.

Like I said... she's not asking for the eclipse to take place a day before , she's asking for the museum event to take place a day before! ...read before judging, and ridiculing. But of course the "article" doesn't say much...who knows, maybe she thinks the museum could make it a 2-day thing - just so that kids can go before returning to school! Maybe, just maybe, she actually knows what an eclipse is, maybe she's not stupid after all. As opposed to all those expert facebook commenters.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

So why not just ask that school be cancelled (or absences excused) so the kids can attend the event?

The Texas school system proves god doesn't exist. No god would be so cruel As to inflict creationism on thinking beings.
