I'm looking for a specific mail notification program. My wife used Redhat Linux back in 1999--2001, with the Gnome window manager. Gnome had panels for various purposes, and one of them was an email notification program. It had the cutest little penguin; he stood in his own little frame in the corner of her screen. He would stand up and dance and flip, every time a new email arrived. (It was really cute!) That was an easy way to know when it was time to read a new email message.
I googled around the web and found gnubiff, which seems similar, but the penguin on gnubiff is a little different than the penguin in my memory (and my wife agreed that he is different).
I know that times change, and I'll probably need a different type of email notification now, since I'll never find the same thing that she had--and even if I could, I doubt it would be compiled and runable on Leopard.
So I guess that suggestions for a new email notification program would be very welcome too, if someone has a terrific suggestion.
Thank you. Sorry for the long post here....... Any suggestions are appreciated.
