This has probably been asked loads of times, but I wanted to confront the forums before going to the Apple store.

I plugged my iPhone into my Dad's speaker dock for about half an hour for it to charge, went to take it out and it was quite hot. The iPhone didn't turn on and it wouldn't have been totally dead on battery.

I've tried holding the home button and the lock button down whilst plugged into the wall charger and holding the buttons down connected to a computer.

Probably time for an iPhone upgrade, but if i can fix it at little cost, that'd be better. Anyone had any similar problems to this?

^+1. Most likely the battery. Easily replaced if ur not afraid of tinny screws.

Stop charging it by the way. If it gets hot like that, forced-charging may finally blow the thing up.
