Hi guys,

I'm going to order a new iMac in the next few days and i'll be doing it online via the apple store for the first time. I know apple has a 5 or more dead pixel's policy before they replace it and i called my local reseller and they advised they can't let me look over the display then decide if i want to purchase cos my order is going to be a custom one.

So has anyone recently got a new iMac and found dead pixels or is it rare these days?

Cheers,

Frank

You can still return it or ask for replacement within 14 days after purchase. After that it's a warranty case and then it's 5 pixels policy I think. All LCDs have them, it's a game of luck

It's certainly not something I'd be freaking out over. there's just as likely a chance the firewire doesn't work or the disk drive is broken. It's just up to chance, but the chances are stacked heavily in your favour. There shouldn't be a problem.
