Looks like I have a dead usb, I never really noticed it before, but in a sense I must have. I always thought the one usb near the power cord was "higher" powered so I plugged in my usb hub into that and ignored the second one. It wasn't until I was prepping the laptop for a potential sale did I realize it was dead.

Since I'm only seeing one usb port showing up in the image (other then the ones that account for, I suspect its a hardware issue. :(

Its a 2008 unibody MBP that's been very good, except for this one problem. If I send it into apple for repair, will they replace the logic board or give me a refurb unit.

Personally, I've lived with this issue long enough and not really impacted me, I've very tempted to live with it longer, since I'll not sell it.

Ok, that's good. I've been happy with the laptop so getting it repaired makes more sense for me ;)
