It's going to be a tough call between the ipad air 4 and the next gen pro. I'm more excited about the next gen pro than the iphone 13. I can't wait for rumors to start circulating about the ipad pro.

iPad 3 definitely has that honor for regular ipads, severely underpowered for retina and was discontinued 7 months later by apple

I will still be getting the 2020 iPad Pro 11" and it will be my very first iPad. I was originally planning to get the iPad Air 4, I don't really care much about the speed of the new processor because I'll probably mainly use the iPad for reading news, browsing social media and maybe try sketching using the Apple Pencil. It would be nice to get the new processor though since it will be able upgradeable for many years to come. However, the only price difference now between the air and pro 11 is just $150 and that will give me upgraded screen, storage, RAM, and camera. I will also be getting free AirPods with the education promo and I think that is a better deal for me.

When you say the A14 has smashed the A12z in metal, do you mean in a Geekbench score? I don’t really understand what you mean by metal? Anyway from what I have seen regarding Geekbench, the A14 wins in single core scores, but the A12z wins in multicore!

I will still be getting the 2020 iPad Pro 11" and it will be my very first iPad. I was originally planning to get the iPad Air 4, I don't really care much about the speed of the new processor because I'll probably mainly use the iPad for reading news, browsing social media and maybe try sketching using the Apple Pencil. For what you are using the iPad for it wouldn’t matter which you got, they will both smash your needs with ease! Also, don’t forget the pro has more ram which will future proof it for longer, as this will allow it to do more tasks at the same time without slowing the device.
